See Why Technology Matters
A trip to a remote Bougainville island to bring Solar power to a health clinic and radio communications.

Where We’re Going: Bougainville
Bougainville is an autonomous region of Papua New Guinea, located about 1,000 kilometers northeast of Cairns in the western Pacific. This remote archipelago sits between the PNG mainland and Solomon Islands, comprising rugged mountainous islands covered in rainforest. With a population of approximately 300,000 people, extreme geographic isolation cuts many communities off from healthcare, education, and basic services—making aviation and technology essential for connection. After voting 98.31% for independence in 2019, Bougainville is preparing to become the world’s newest nation on September 1, 2027.
The Need in Bougainville
Bougainville is one of the world’s most isolated regions. Emerging from a devastating civil war, these island communities are cut off, or have very challenging access to essential services—healthcare, education, communications, and economic opportunity.
Health Clinics operate in darkness. Numerous remote villages have no communication with the outside world. Health workers and medical supplies have to trek, go by small boat or go on very challenging remote roads to reach patients. Many children lack access to education and most lack access to good education. The coral reefs—among the world’s most pristine—remain unstudied and unprotected.
This is where God has called us.
